Hormone Clinic - Dr Antje Bongartz

Hormones are the main drivers of our body, first and foremost the thyroid and adrenal gland, with their essential hormones, Thyroid Stimulating hormone (TSH) and Cortisol. All other hormones, including our sex hormones (Oestrogen, Progesterone and Testosterone), metabolic regulator Insulin, hunger hormone Ghrelin, and weight-regulating hormone Leptin, are in the back seat.

When all hormones are in equilibrium, we feel physically and mentally well, have good energy levels and can manage life’s challenges.

But our hormones are often imbalanced, which significantly disturbs our well-being. Disturbance happens as we move through different life stages, like puberty and menopause (for women and men). Hormones trigger endometriosis, polycystic ovary disease (PCOS), thyroid problems, infections, cancer, obesity, drug abuse, and environmental toxicity. All these diseases threaten our immune system and cause inflammation in the body. As a consequence, this will increase our risk of developing other health problems like heart disease and diabetes.

It is essential to examine the whole picture of our life, including lifestyle, housing, work, nutrition, exercise, and sleep. Only this will enable and motivate us to make meaningful changes.

I have extensively studied to understand our hormones better and offer an integrated approach. For more information about my education, please visit my website: https://1der1.com/pages/1der1?ShoreDoctors.

Before our consultation, I will send out a questionnaire from SMART https://www.hormoneassessment.com, which will help to identify the main underlying hormonal imbalances. A comprehensive blood test before the appointment would be ideal, but this is optional.

We need 45 minutes for the first consultation and 30 minutes for every follow-up consultation. During this time, we can address all aspects and develop a comprehensive treatment plan,

Please call reception (094865482) to book an initial consultation - you are not able to book these appointments online.

Appointments are available for enrolled and non-enrolled patients Monday to Fridays.
